Award Programs
Award programs are programs implemented and observed in organizations such as schools, offices, government services and the military. They seek to give recognition to individuals who did not just perform the duties expected of them, but performed their tasks in exemplary fashion over a specific period of time, contributing greatly to the success of the organization and the attainment of the goals set by the management. This type of reward system in practice in society is one of the oldest and most commonly used forms of recognizing excellence and outstanding achievement.
Many individuals get exposed to award programs early on in life, as awards are given as early as the first year of school. Students who excel in class in a certain subject or field are given awards for their good performance. Some awards are also given for those who excel in extracurricular activities that give the school honor as well. These include winning at sports or athletic meets, theatre shows, subject competitions such as spelling bees, science fairs, and math quiz bees.
Even with the educational phase over, awards still surround a person’s life. Individuals can still be qualified and win an award in his or her place of employment or within private groups and government agencies that they are a part of. The same holds true for individuals who join the army.
Award programs provide numerous categories for the awards they hand out to employees. Some, like awards for milestones in service tenure, will take a long time and require dedication and loyalty. Still, there are awards that do not take very long to accomplish, including annual awards for performance-based recognition.
There are numerous manufacturing companies all around the world, some of them present even on the information highway, that specialize in the production of different employee awards. Awards given during awarding ceremonies vary, from the very affordable lapel pins and tie-tacks to the more expensive rings and high-end watches.
