Computer Error Messages
We have all gone through the computer error messages ordeal. You know the one where you get all nervous, and your heart almost stops because you see this fatal error, or illegal error message. Who ever decided to call these messages “fatal” or “illegal?” Is someone going to die? Is the computer going to up and die because you turned it on? Some people are so afraid of these messages, the only thing they can think of to do is to turn the machine off and call the tech, and unbeknownst to them, this is probably what fixes the problem. There are over 20,000 different computer error messages on windows systems, and its virtually impossible to understand what all of them mean.
After all what do error messages like the following mean: “Cannot delete tmp164_5.tmp: There is not enough free disk space.” This error message doesn’t even make sense. If the machine is telling you that you need to delete files, and when you want to do that, it won’t let you. Hmmm! Interesting situation!
How about the message: “The program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down; if the problem persists, contact the program vendor.” I can’t even remember how many times I have been called about this error message. This message especially puts the new computer user to the test. “Do they contact the program vendor or not? If you are seriously wondering about this question, then the answer is an emphatic “no.” You will never get an answer from the vendor this way. In fact, sending an error report to the vendor is much the same as sending your “Wish List” to Santa at the North Pole.
What can be done?
One fact is that these errors could be resolved by restarting the computer, or turning it off and then turning it on again. So, if you are not a computer programmer or computer engineer, then these error messages do not mean much importance to you.
These error messages are nothing to worry about, but still there are some of the error messages that you should beware of and get help if you see them.
Windows perfection error - this message occur whenever there is a VXD which corresponds to the virtual device driver problem. Probably the one thing that you can do is restart your computer, put it in safe mode, remove and then again add the problem causing device driver. Problems in registry or windows also cause this problem. If the registry catches an error, then it is recommended to download a registry utility program which cleans the registry.
KERNAL32.DLL - the KERNAL32 has to face a lot of problems and there is no end solution to it. It handles a large number of processes. Having a problem with the file KERNAL32 means that there are corrupt system files, problem in microprocessor, bad software working, expired drivers, virus present in the system, or insufficient space in the hard disc. It could imply many things getting a KERNAL32 message. Evens some sort of error in the hardware may also cause this message to display. Insufficient power supply, extra heated microprocessor, is also responsible for the appearance of KERNAL32. You may use a windows registry cleaner in this case which may fix the problem.
Blue Screen Errors - these are one of the most major computer problems, in which the computer does not worry about showing you an error message. The blue screen appearing only implies that there is a need of immediate action to be taken by you. Sometimes it is written on the blue screen “wait for the program to continue or else press ctrl-alt-del to restart the computer”. Most of the times you don’t get back to the program, but restarting the computer may prove to be of some help. The computer may just get back to normal once you reboot it. Sometimes the blue screen gives a message telling you to plug a device that you unplugged. You may restart the computer if the windows do not show up. You should know that it’s time to worry if the blue screen does not stops from showing up, and there may be some hardware error, which need a service technician to be corrected.
In the End
In most cases the computer will repair the error itself by rebooting. There are exceptions where registry errors or program errors have occurred and in these cases a registry cleaner should do the trick. Unfortunately some computer error messages require a more thorough revision, and if the registry cleaner did not work then you might want to call in a professional to see what the problem is.
